In a devastating incident at the "Argel Ahmar" area within the Akfay commune, located on the outskirts of Marrakech, two individuals lost their lives due to the collapse of earthen walls. This unfortunate event occurred as a result of severe thunderstorms and strong winds that swept through the region on the evening of Wednesday, March 25th.
Upon being notified of the incident, local authorities, along with members of the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection teams, quickly arrived at the scene. They worked tirelessly to recover the victims, one of whom tragically died at the site of the collapse, while the other succumbed to their injuries during the rescue efforts.
The bodies of the deceased were subsequently transported to the morgue in Marrakech. In light of this tragic event, an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collapse and the factors that contributed to this heartbreaking occurrence.
