Tragic Discovery of Engineer's Body Sparks Investigative Efforts

A somber incident has unfolded in the vicinity of Berrechid, Morocco, where the local gendarmerie was called into action following the discovery of a deceased engineer at the bottom of a well approximately 80 meters deep. The body was found on Saturday, October 10, 2026, prompting immediate investigation by local authorities and emergency services.

The engineer, who was born in 1991 and resided in Ain Diab, had been reported missing for about 15 days under mysterious circumstances. His family had initiated a search effort after he disappeared without a trace. Tragically, the search ended with the grim discovery of his lifeless body in a well located in the Douar Khayyita, near the town of Soualem.

Upon receiving the report, a team from civil protection, along with a representative from the local authorities, arrived at the scene to recover the body. Investigators from the judicial police and forensic experts also joined the effort to assess the situation. The engineer's body was subsequently transported to the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Settat for autopsy and further examination.

In response to this distressing development, the public prosecutor at the Settat Court of Appeal ordered comprehensive field, technical, and scientific investigations to uncover the circumstances surrounding the engineer's disappearance and the cause of his death. Authorities are keen to determine whether the circumstances were accidental or indicative of foul play, ensuring that appropriate legal actions are taken based on the findings.
