Fatal Truck Accident in Fez
A devastating accident occurred on the main street of the Al-Farah administrative district in the Zawiya area of Fez on Sunday evening. A driver lost control of a large truck, specifically a "Rimok," causing it to veer off its path and crash into the ground floor of a four-story residential building. The impact was severe, resulting in the tragic death of the truck driver, who sustained critical injuries from the collision.
The truck also caused significant material damage to a tire shop located on the ground floor of the building where the truck came to a halt. Emergency services, including local authorities from the Zawiya district and security forces from the fourth police precinct, were quick to respond to the scene. Civil protection teams were also deployed to secure the area and assess the situation, as well as to retrieve the body of the deceased driver.
This incident marks the second similar accident in Fez within approximately two weeks, following another truck collision with a residential building in the Al-Mashariq neighborhood.
