In his remarks following the signing, the ECOWAS Chair, Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio, emphasized the project's potential to enhance regional energy integration, stating, "We have signed the agreement related to the West Africa-Morocco gas pipeline; do not be surprised when the gas arrives at your doorstep." The pipeline is expected to not only streamline energy supply to various regional consumption centers but also create a significant corridor for economic development connecting West Africa, the Sahel states, Morocco, and Europe.
