Trelleborg Aerospace to Nearly Double Factory Size in Morocco
On October 11, 2026, during the Marrakech Airshow 2026, Trelleborg Aerospace and Midparc Casablanca Free Zone formalized an agreement to expand the coverage area of their aerospace sealing systems factory from 5,209 square meters to over 10,000 square meters. This significant expansion comes just a few months after the inauguration of the Nouaceur site, signaling a pivotal moment in the industrial establishment of the Swedish group in Morocco. The extension will enhance the existing facility rather than establishing a new site, which underscores Trelleborg's commitment to deepening its roots in the Moroccan aerospace ecosystem.
The announcement is particularly noteworthy as it follows the June 9, 2026, opening of Trelleborg's production unit in Nouaceur, strategically located within the Midparc industrial free zone near Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport. This factory stands as Trelleborg's first dedicated facility in Morocco for the manufacturing of polymer seals specifically designed for aircraft. Initially, Trelleborg launched the facility with an area of approximately 5,000 square meters, aimed at bolstering its footprint in Morocco's burgeoning aerospace sector. The newly announced expansion of 5,209 square meters will significantly enhance the operational capacity of the existing site.
The initial investment for the project was nearly 130 million dirhams, with the potential to create between 150 to 200 jobs, as outlined by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Trelleborg Aerospace, the Swedish group's aeronautical division, focuses on designing and manufacturing sealing solutions for both aerospace and space applications. Their products play crucial roles in various aircraft components, including engines, landing gear, flight controls, and structural elements. With over 60 years of experience in the industry, Trelleborg Aerospace also offers engineering services, qualification, and supply chain management, further solidifying its position as a leader in the aerospace sector.
