Remembering Haïl Zaitouni: A Legacy of Service

The General Directorate of National Security has expressed its heartfelt condolences following the passing of Haïl Zaitouni, the former security chief of Marrakech, who departed this life on the evening of Thursday, August 20, at the military hospital in Rabat. Zaitouni's career spanned over four decades, during which he distinguished himself through exemplary service in various critical roles aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the Moroccan people. His last position was as the head of the Marrakech Security Directorate, after which he served as the Director of Public Security at the General Directorate of National Security.

In light of this profound loss, the Director General of National Security, on behalf of himself and the entire national security community, extended his deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased, praying for Zaitouni’s eternal peace and for his family to find solace in this time of grief. Furthermore, the Director General has instructed central directorate officials and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Employees to provide necessary support to the bereaved family, standing by them during this irreplaceable loss.
