TUI Expands Flight Offerings to Morocco

On September 24, 2026, TUI announced its plans to introduce a new flight route connecting London-Gatwick to Tangier, starting in the summer of 2027. This expansion is part of a broader strategy that will also see increased flight capacities to Marrakech and Agadir from Belgium. Additionally, TUI is considering new routes to Fes and Essaouira, further enhancing Morocco’s connectivity to international destinations.

As part of the summer 2027 flight program unveiled by TUI, the company will offer a staggering 17 million seats across 84,000 flights, marking a 4.6% increase in capacity compared to the previous year. This significant growth includes 25 new routes, with 11 being brand new destinations within TUI’s network, totaling approximately 640,000 additional seats. Nearly one-third of this program has been adjusted to allocate more aircraft to markets with the highest demand, reflecting TUI’s commitment to meeting traveler needs.

Details on New Routes and Frequencies

At London-Gatwick, TUI will introduce eight additional routes, expanding its network to a total of 59 destinations. Among these new routes, Tangier stands out alongside other exciting locations such as Athens, Palermo, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Valencia, Djerba, and Mytilene. However, the frequency of flights between London and Tangier has yet to be disclosed. TUI indicates that most of its new routes will operate two to three times per week, primarily targeting travelers who are purchasing flight-only tickets.

In Belgium, TUI is also increasing frequencies to several already-served destinations, with Marrakech and Agadir set to benefit significantly from the additional capacities. Furthermore, Fes and Essaouira have been mentioned as potential new routes from Belgium, although the exact launch dates, departure airports, and flight frequencies for these routes are still under consideration.

This expansion comes just a month after TUI's CEO, Sebastian Ebel, hinted at the possibility of reducing the number of aircraft based in Belgium due to aviation tax concerns. Ultimately, TUI has decided to enhance its Belgian program by reallocating its resources to the most in-demand destinations.

Agadir will particularly gain from redeployments across various other European markets, with TUI identifying it as a destination poised for significant growth from Germany during the summer of 2027.
