Search Operations Underway for Two Missing French Nationals
In a concerning incident that unfolded near Tangier, Morocco, two French nationals have been reported missing following difficulties experienced by their catamaran on the night of May 24. The vessel, along with an empty life raft, was discovered adrift approximately three nautical miles from the Moroccan coast. Both the boat and the life raft have since been towed to the port of Asilah, as confirmed by the National Maritime Coordination and Rescue Center to our colleagues at Agence France Presse.
In response to this distressing situation, the Moroccan authorities have mobilized significant resources for search operations, deploying a national Navy aircraft, two helicopters, and three maritime units to assist in the search efforts. The focus of the search is concentrated on a dinghy that was equipped with an outboard motor, which was also part of the crew's equipment. The missing individuals are identified as Vincent Donzé, 25 years old, and a professional navigator, who were tasked with transporting the catamaran from the Caribbean to a European port.
