Exciting Scholarship Opportunities for Moroccan Nationals in Spain
In a significant development for Moroccan students, the Embassy of Morocco in Spain, in collaboration with the Spanish educational institution Planeta Formacion y Universidades, has unveiled the third edition of their scholarship program aimed at Moroccan nationals residing in Spain. This initiative, which is part of a broader cooperation protocol established in 2023, aims to empower Moroccan professionals and young individuals with long-term residency in Spain by providing them access to high-quality education. The application window for the 2026-2027 academic year opened on April 22 and will remain open until July 5, offering a total of 214 scholarships across a diverse range of vocational training, bachelor’s, continuing education, and doctoral programs.
Applicants will have the opportunity to choose from over 140 programs available in ten different fields of study, facilitated by the esteemed institutions within the Planeta Formacion y Universidades network. This network encompasses renowned educational entities such as EAE Business School, Barcelona Culinary Hub, iFP, OBS Business School, BIU Broward International University, The Core School, UNIE Universidad, and Universidad Internacional de Valencia. The programs are designed to be flexible, available in various formats including in-person, blended, and online learning options.
Scholarship Details and Application Process
The available scholarships are categorized into three types, covering 100%, 75%, or 50% of tuition fees, thereby allowing a broad spectrum of students to benefit from this initiative. While tuition costs are covered, it is important for applicants to be aware that enrollment and administrative fees may still apply. The selection process for candidates is rigorous, primarily based on academic qualifications. In cases where applicants have equivalent academic records, priority will be given based on the order of registration. To qualify, candidates must hold Moroccan nationality, possess valid residency in Spain, and meet the specific admission criteria for their chosen program. Applications can be submitted through a specialized online platform tailored for this purpose.
This program has seen remarkable growth since its inception, with the previous edition for the 2024-2025 academic year providing 241 scholarships across 126 programs in more than ten areas of study. The current iteration not only continues this trend but also expands the catalog to encompass over 140 options, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for Moroccan students. Ambassador Karima Benyaich emphasized the importance of this partnership, highlighting education as a cornerstone for the future and professional success of Moroccan youth. She noted that Morocco is positioning itself as a regional hub for training, particularly for African nations, and announced an additional 300 scholarships, both partial and full, for students in Morocco.
Planeta CEO Carlos Giménez expressed satisfaction with the program's growth and the positive outcomes observed in previous editions, underlining the program's impact on the academic and professional trajectories of beneficiaries. He reiterated Planeta's dedication to nurturing Moroccan talent and indicated plans to initiate new educational projects in Morocco while continuing to invest in modern educational infrastructure in collaboration with Moroccan authorities. This strategic cooperation not only reinforces the educational landscape for Moroccan students but also fosters a stronger connection between Morocco and Spain.
