Following an intense heatwave that affected various regions in Morocco, temperatures have begun to decrease as of the last weekend. However, the General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange-level alert forecasting a new wave of heat that is expected to last from Tuesday, July 14, 2026, until Friday, July 17, 2026. This impending heatwave is anticipated to bring temperatures ranging between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius.
The alert covers several Moroccan regions, including the provinces of Zagora, Tata, Smara, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Oued Eddahab, and Ausserd. According to the meteorological authorities, a similar weather phenomenon is likely to occur during the same period in other areas such as Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fkih Ben Salah, Errachidia, Khenifra, Boulemane, Chichaoua, Ksar es-Sid, Taza, Taroudant, Tinghir, Khouribga, Settat, Qalaat Saraghna, Marrakech, Rhamna, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda Angad, Taourirt, and Guelmim, where temperatures are expected to range from 40 to 43 degrees Celsius.
