The National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) has announced a precautionary recall of several batches of infant formula available in the Moroccan market. This action was prompted by an international alert regarding the potential presence of the toxic substance Céréulide, which is produced by the Bacillus cereus bacteria in certain products.
Upon receiving this notification, the office immediately activated preventive measures to safeguard consumer health. They promptly notified the importing company of the necessity to withdraw the affected batches of infant formula from the market. Consequently, the company has secured and stored several of these batches in its warehouses as part of the monitoring operations. The recall and return processes will continue until all affected quantities are retrieved, with plans to destroy all stocks covered under this alert.
The recall affects several infant formula products packaged in 900-gram and 400-gram containers, primarily including NURSIE 1, NURSIE CONFORT 1, APTAMIL PREMIUM +1, APTAMIL PREMIUM +2, and APTAJUNIOR PREMIUM +3.
Parents and guardians are urged to verify the products they possess and to refrain from using any infant formula that falls within the batches mentioned in this precautionary alert until the withdrawal process from the markets is completed.
ONSSA emphasizes that these measures are part of a health vigilance system and the monitoring of food safety, aiming to protect consumer health, particularly vulnerable groups such as infants.
