Upcoming Weather Conditions in Morocco

The Moroccan General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a weather alert predicting a heat wave along with thunderstorm showers and strong wind gusts affecting several provinces from Thursday to Saturday. This forecast highlights the potential for extreme temperatures and severe weather conditions across the country.

During this period, provinces such as Errachidia, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab are expected to experience high temperatures ranging from 41°C to 44°C. This advisory has been categorized as an orange alert, indicating a significant risk to public safety and health.

In addition to the heat, the DGM warns that thunderstorms with rainfall amounts between 20 to 25 mm, accompanied by strong winds and hail in certain areas, will occur on Thursday from 2 PM to 11 PM in the provinces of Boulemane, Jerada, and Figuig. Residents in these regions are advised to stay indoors during the storms to ensure their safety.

Furthermore, the northern provinces of Tanger-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra will also face strong wind gusts, reaching speeds of 75 to 80 km/h, from Thursday at 11 AM until Friday at 11 PM, which could lead to hazardous conditions and potential damage.

It is advisable for individuals in the affected areas to take necessary precautions during this extreme weather event to protect themselves and their property.
