Thunderstorms and Rain Expected Across Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that on Thursday, thunderstorm activity accompanied by locally intense rain is expected to affect several regions across the country. Specifically, areas in the east, the Atlas Mountains and their western regions, the Saïss plain, the phosphates plateaus, the Tensift region, the small Atlas, the southeastern parts, as well as the northeastern areas of the southern provinces will likely experience significant precipitation.

Moreover, sporadic rainfall or light showers are anticipated, with the possibility of thunderstorms occurring in the Rif region, the west, eastern Mediterranean coast, and the northwestern southern provinces. There may also be localized showers in the northern and central Atlantic coastal plains. Meanwhile, the weather will remain relatively cold in the Atlas Mountains during the night and morning, with snow expected to fall on the peaks of both the Greater and Middle Atlas.

Additionally, strong gusts of wind are forecasted for the Tangier region, the Mediterranean coast, and the southern provinces. The minimum temperatures are expected to range between 1°C and 6°C in the Atlas Mountains, 6°C to 12°C in the Rif and high plateaus, and between 16°C and 18°C in the far southeast of the country and the northeastern areas of the southern provinces. The rest of the kingdom will see temperatures ranging from 12°C to 16°C.
