Weather Forecast: Warm and Unstable Conditions Across the Region

Today's Weather Outlook: A Blend of Warmth and Instability

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts that today, Thursday, the weather will be characterized by relatively warm to hot conditions across the northern plains, central regions, the Saïss area, the Moulouya Valley, the southeastern regions, and within the southern provinces. In addition, unstable cloud formations are expected to develop, bringing with them the possibility of scattered showers or local thunderstorms, particularly over the High Atlas Mountains, the southeastern regions, and the eastern part of the country, as well as sporadically across the Rif and the Middle Atlas.

Foggy conditions are anticipated to form during the morning and evening hours along the Mediterranean coast, and locally along the Atlantic coastline. Furthermore, moderate to somewhat strong gusts of wind are expected in the southern provinces and locally in the southeastern region, the eastern area, and the High Atlas Mountains, potentially resulting in localized dust uplift.

Temperature Ranges and Sea Conditions

As for temperature ranges, the minimum temperatures are predicted to fluctuate between 6°C and 12°C in the High Atlas, while temperatures will vary between 11°C and 18°C in the Rif and Mediterranean coast, as well as near the Atlantic coast. In the far southeastern regions and the east, temperatures are expected to range from 23°C to 28°C, and between 18°C and 23°C across the rest of the kingdom. During the daytime, temperatures will decrease in the northern and central plains of the Atlantic, the Atlas, and the southern provinces, with slight increases expected in other areas.

The sea conditions will generally be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean, slightly choppy to rough in the Strait of Gibraltar, and slightly choppy to rough along the Atlantic coast, with local roughness expected south of Cape Barbas.
