Tragic Turn of Events in Fes: A Woman's Report Leads to Her Arrest

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the public prosecutor's office at the Fes Court of Appeal ordered the transfer of a deceased man in his forties to the morgue at the regional hospital for medical examination or autopsy, as needed, to ascertain the true cause of death. This decision followed suspicions that he had been fatally stabbed with a sharp object, allegedly wielded by his wife in the Knaoua area, part of the Jnan Lward district.

According to local sources, the suspect approached the first police station early that Wednesday morning, claiming her husband had been fatally assaulted by individuals he had been drinking with in an undisclosed location. She further alleged that these individuals followed him home and inflicted lethal blows upon him. However, initial police investigations quickly raised doubts about her account.

Police forces, including criminal investigation and forensic units, initiated their inquiries, leading to the wife's interrogation. During this process, she reportedly broke down under questioning when confronted with evidence that contradicted her narrative, as indicated by the same sources.

Consequently, the suspect was placed under police custody by order of the relevant public prosecutor to facilitate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her husband's death. Authorities aim to uncover the truth regarding the events leading to his demise, with plans to present her before the public prosecutor at the Fes Court of Appeal for appropriate legal action.
