In a remarkable incident that took place on Sunday morning, a 20-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle in Endingen, resulting in his car plunging into the Surb River. Fortunately, both the driver and his three passengers emerged from the ordeal without any injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest that fatigue might have played a significant role in causing this accident.
The self-inflicted accident occurred on April 26, 2026, at approximately 8:30 AM on Surbtalstrasse in Endingen. The young driver was navigating a VW Golf, traveling from Lengnau towards Unterendingen, when he lost control of the vehicle just before a bridge. As a result, the car veered off the road and entered the Surb River. Thankfully, all four occupants were able to exit the vehicle independently and reported no injuries. However, the car sustained substantial damage.
Initial reports indicate that the driver may have been suffering from exhaustion, which likely contributed to the loss of control. The Aargau Cantonal Police have since referred the case to the appropriate public prosecutor's office for further action.
