Salim Hanida's Journey to the African Championship

Excitement is in the air as 16-year-old handball talent Salim Hanida prepares for a thrilling adventure that will take him to Casablanca, Morocco, where he will join his fellow national team players. Having previously visited Casablanca for a training camp, Hanida has already formed friendships with his teammates, stating, "They are all very nice." The Moroccan national team is set to fly to Ivory Coast on September 15th to compete in the African Championship, an event that fills Hanida with immense joy. A Dual Citizen's Rise in Handball

Residing in Lorsch, Germany, with his family, Salim’s connection to the Moroccan national team stems from his father, who is originally from Morocco. This familial link has allowed Salim to acquire dual citizenship, enabling him to represent Morocco on the international stage. Beyond his athletic prowess, Hanida is also excelling academically; he is set to graduate from a Bensheim high school in March 2027. This season, Salim has joined the youth A-team, while also participating in matches with the men's second team and training alongside the first team. Standing tall at 1.95 meters, this left-handed player previously played for TSV Pfungstadt. His exceptional talent was recognized by youth coaches from S3L, leading to an invitation from Marc Nagel, the sports director of S3L, to join their ranks—a move that proved successful from the start. "Salim is exactly the type of player we need," says Nagel, emphasizing how well the 16-year-old fits into their strategy of developing young players and integrating them into the first team.

As Hanida prepares for his debut as a Moroccan national player, supporters eagerly await his performance in Ivory Coast.
