Major Drug Bust in Fez: Two Suspects Arrested
On a recent evening, the anti-gang unit of the Fez police, acting on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully apprehended a young woman in her thirties suspected of being involved in drug possession and trafficking. The arrest took place at a judicial checkpoint on the Ain Chkaf road, shortly after the suspect arrived in a vehicle from Tangier. During a thorough search, police discovered an alarming stash of 4,800 ecstasy pills and 3,000 pills of a tranquilizer known as "Rivotril," along with a significant sum of money believed to be the proceeds from her illicit activities.
According to sources from Telquel Arabic, the authorities were able to track down her accomplice, to whom she intended to deliver the considerable quantity of narcotics, shortly after her arrest. Both suspects are currently undergoing judicial investigations under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at uncovering the full extent of their criminal operations and identifying any additional participants involved in these illegal activities. The successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crimes in Morocco, particularly in key cities like Fez.
