Celebrating Morocco's Digital Transformation: Mohamadou Diallo Honors Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni

Mohamadou Diallo Commends Minister for Digital Innovation in Morocco

In a heartfelt tribute, Mohamadou Diallo, the Director General of CIO-MAG, has acknowledged the significant contributions of Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni, the outgoing Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform in Morocco. Diallo credited her with playing a pivotal role in advancing digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation within the Kingdom of Morocco. His remarks came in recognition of her efforts to enhance the country's digital landscape, which have positioned Morocco as a leader in digital innovation across Africa.

In his message, Diallo underscored key achievements during El Fallah-Seghrouchni's tenure, including the acceleration of public service digitalization, the implementation of the Maroc Digital 2030 strategy, and the launch of the "AI Made in Morocco" initiative. He also highlighted the establishment of the JAZARI network, all of which have contributed to Morocco's rising profile in the realm of digital innovation. These initiatives have not only modernized public services but have also enhanced the overall efficiency of governance in the country.

Legacy of Collaboration and Vision for Africa's Digital Future

Diallo emphasized that one of El Fallah-Seghrouchni’s most notable successes was her ability to unite various stakeholders, including academia, research institutions, startups, businesses, and public authorities, around a common long-term vision. This vision focuses on leveraging knowledge and innovation as essential drivers of sovereignty and development within Morocco and the broader African context. He expressed admiration for her leadership, stating, “Your greatest success has undoubtedly been to bring together the academic world, research, startups, companies and public action in the long term around a common vision.”

Furthermore, Diallo praised her pan-African approach to digital advancement, particularly her support for the 14th edition of the Assises de la Transformation Digitale en Afrique (ATDA), which took place in Rabat in 2025. He also noted her continued support for the African CIO Awards, held as part of GITEX Africa, initiatives that have reinforced Morocco's position as a central hub for dialogue on the future of digital development in Africa.

Reflecting on her legacy, Diallo remarked that it transcends mere programs and reforms, encapsulating a profound belief that African nations must not only adopt technology but also foster innovation, knowledge, and solutions. He stated, “Your legacy goes beyond programs and reforms. It lies in a conviction that you have consistently embodied: Africa must not only be a user of technology, but also a creator of innovation, knowledge and solutions.”

As El Fallah-Seghrouchni steps down, Diallo extended his best wishes to Ahmed Rahhou, the new minister responsible for artificial intelligence and digital transformation, expressing optimism that Morocco will continue to build on the momentum of digital development initiated during her tenure. He concluded his tribute by thanking El Fallah-Seghrouchni for her vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the digital evolution of Morocco and Africa as a whole.
