El Salvador to Face Morocco in Upcoming Friendly Match

El Salvador is set to clash with Morocco in a friendly match on June 3, with the game taking place at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. This announcement was made by Yamil Bukele, the president of the Salvadoran Football Federation, on his social media platforms.

In his message shared via his X account, Bukele confirmed the match by stating, "CONFIRMED: El Salvador will play against Morocco on June 3 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, as part of the commitments scheduled for the upcoming FIFA date." He emphasized the significance of this match, noting, "It is definitely a high-level commitment that adds to our process."

For El Salvador, this match presents an opportunity to compete against a formidable opponent, Morocco, which reached the semifinals in the last World Cup and was a finalist in the most recent Africa Cup of Nations. The Moroccan national team is currently preparing for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada in June and July.

Meanwhile, the Salvadoran team has already been eliminated from the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and is now gearing up for the Concacaf Nations League and the Gold Cup.
