Marrakech Police Take Action Against Drug Trafficking
In a significant operation on the evening of October 22, 2026, the Urban Police Brigade of the First Security District in Marrakech successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in the possession and distribution of hard drugs and psychotropic substances. This operation took place near the former military hospital "Ibn Sina" while the suspects were inside a grey Hyundai vehicle.
The police conducted thorough inspection procedures as part of this security operation, resulting in the confiscation of a substantial amount of cocaine, as well as a shipment of Lyrica (a psychotropic pill) and a quantity of hashish that was prepared for sale. The two suspects have been placed under police custody while a judicial investigation is underway, supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office. This investigation aims to uncover the full extent and connections related to this criminal activity, including identifying the suppliers of these illegal substances.
