The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) of Morocco has issued a warning regarding an extreme weather forecast for the upcoming weekend. Residents in several regions are advised to prepare for soaring temperatures coupled with thunderstorms, potential hail, and strong winds. Specifically, an orange weather alert has been declared for October 3rd and 4th, with temperatures expected to range from 36°C to 40°C in areas including Taroudant, Oued Ed-Dahab, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Laâyoune, and Aousserd.

Rainfall and Thunderstorm Predictions

On October 3rd, between noon and 11 PM, thunderstorms are forecasted to deliver rainfall amounts between 20 and 30 millimeters across various regions. This is particularly concerning for areas such as Tinghir, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceïma, Guercif, Taza, Driouch, Taourirt, Azilal, Ifrane, and Nador, where there is a significant risk of hail and strong winds accompanying the storms.
