Exciting New Routes Linking Morocco to Europe
Ryanair, the popular low-cost airline, has unveiled its first set of new routes for the summer of 2027, showcasing a strong commitment to expanding connections to Morocco. Among the 29 new routes announced, four will directly serve Moroccan cities, enhancing travel options significantly. Tangier is set to benefit with three new European links, while Marrakech will see one new connection. This announcement was made on October 9, and travelers can now book these routes via Ryanair’s website and mobile app.
The airline is planning an extensive network for summer 2027, with over 2,500 routes to 230 destinations worldwide. Dara Brady, the Chief Marketing Officer of Ryanair, has indicated that further route announcements are on the horizon as the airline continues its expansion efforts.
Tangier and Marrakech: New European Connections
The new routes include three connections from Tangier, linking this vibrant northern Moroccan city with Alicante in Spain, Krakow in Poland, and Turin in Italy. Additionally, Marrakech will gain a connection to Palermo in Sicily. While Ryanair has shared these exciting new routes, detailed information regarding operating frequencies and launch dates for these services is still pending.
This summer expansion complements Ryanair’s winter 2026-2027 schedule for Morocco, which was previously announced in August. The winter schedule is particularly noteworthy, as it will offer 5.3 million seats to and from Morocco, marking an increase of 580,000 seats compared to the previous winter and representing a 12% growth. This schedule comprises an impressive 156 routes, including 17 new connections across 14 countries, thereby enhancing Morocco's accessibility to international travelers.
The winter schedule includes planned services such as two flights a week between Rabat and both Stockholm and Krakow, while Marrakech will feature connections to Wroclaw and Karlsruhe, with varying frequencies. Agadir will also see enhanced connectivity with routes to Milan Malpensa, Nuremberg, Bratislava, and Gdansk, each anticipated to operate twice weekly.
Significantly, this winter plan is anchored around Ryanair’s fifth Moroccan base in Rabat, facilitating operations across 13 airports within the country. The airline intends to base 16 aircraft in Morocco, including two at the Rabat base, which translates to a substantial investment of $1.6 billion in the region. Ryanair’s operations in Morocco are projected to support over 8,500 local jobs, further contributing to the economic development of the country.
