Spanish Police Seize Five Tons of Cocaine in Major Anti-Drug Operation

Significant Drug Bust in Huelva

The Spanish police have made a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking by seizing five tons of cocaine in Huelva, located in the southern region of Andalucía. This operation, which is one of the largest anti-drug efforts in the province, has resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, as reported by local media outlets this Saturday. The cocaine was reportedly stored in a residence near the city of Gibraltar, which the criminals utilized as a temporary warehouse to conceal the illicit product before it was transported to its final destination.

During this extensive operation, authorities not only apprehended eight suspects but also confiscated close to one million euros in cash, along with firearms that were reportedly used by the criminal network. According to sources, the cocaine entered Spain via the same routes commonly employed for smuggling cannabis resin, typically utilizing high-speed boats coming from Morocco.
