Arrest in Marrakech: Legal Proceedings Underway
The public prosecutor's office at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech has made the decision to place a man in his sixties into the local prison of Oudaya, following his alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl. This incident took place in the city of Imintanout, located in the Chichaoua province.
Local sources have reported that law enforcement received a notification regarding the presence of a minor inside a commercial establishment in the Takadirte neighborhood alongside the shop owner. This prompted the intervention of the judicial police from the Imintanout police station. Upon arrival, they found the girl within the shop, leading to the immediate arrest of the owner, who was taken to the police station for questioning about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The suspect, who operates a grocery store, is believed to have lured the girl into his shop, where he allegedly touched sensitive areas of her body. These actions have initiated an investigation by the security services, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
Legal measures have been implemented, including interviewing the girl in a manner that considers her age and situation, as well as subjecting her to a forensic medical examination in Marrakech, in accordance with the public prosecutor's directives. This is intended to verify the details related to the incident and to ascertain the nature of the actions being investigated.
Simultaneously, the suspect has been placed under police custody to facilitate the judicial investigation overseen by the public prosecutor's office.
