A Significant Gathering for African Journalism
On April 13 and 14, 2026, the National Syndicate of Moroccan Press (SNPM) is hosting a pivotal meeting of the African Journalists Federation (FAJ) in Rabat. This gathering comes just three weeks ahead of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) global congress scheduled to take place in Paris. It represents a strategic turning point for journalism unions across the continent. The agenda for the meeting includes discussions on regional structuring, gender perspectives, climate justice, and migration governance. Notably, the event will feature the presence of former IFJ president Jim Boumelha and representatives from various African sub-regions, all poised to endorse ambitious programmatic directions that will place emerging thematic issues at the forefront of their union activities.
