Agadir Logistics Zone Welcomes 16 New Operators
The Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development (AMDL), through its subsidiary, the Moroccan Society of Logistics Installations (SMIL), has recently concluded an important phase in the development of the Agadir Logistics Zone. Following a call for expressions of interest, the AMDL announced that it has selected 16 operators to establish their logistics projects within this strategically important zone. This initiative is aimed at creating state-of-the-art logistics facilities, specifically designed to accommodate Class A warehouses, thereby enhancing the region's logistical capabilities and economic growth prospects.
Among the selected operators are notable entities such as SNTL, La Voie Express, BHF Atlas, BIM Maroc, Soft Group, Sahara Logistic Nord, Tegic Logistic, Africa Global Logistics – MSC, SODIPOL – Le Berger, Maroc Express, Maha Intaj, MSIMO, Winner Distributors, Phyto Sidid, Centre Pneumatique Ibn Tachfine, and Smurfit Kappa. The AMDL emphasized that the level of interest from economic and logistics operators has exceeded the supply available in the market, highlighting the significant demand for logistics infrastructure in the region.
In accordance with the established procedures, the AMDL has notified the selected parties, requiring them to finalize the necessary transfer agreements within a strict timeframe of thirty days to kickstart their investment projects. This successful selection operation marks a significant milestone for the AMDL as it prepares to launch the commercialization of the Logistics Zone of Ouled Saleh – Nouaceur, located to the south of Casablanca. This new zone, covering an area of 70 hectares, is nearing completion, with development works progressing steadily.
Through the development of both the Agadir and Ouled Saleh logistics zones, as well as other ongoing projects in locations such as the Zenata Logistics Zone to the north of Casablanca and in Fez, the AMDL is committed to continuously enhancing its structured logistics land offerings. This initiative plays a crucial role in strengthening the logistics competitiveness of the Kingdom, supporting investment, and promoting economic development across various territories.
