Aïd Al Fitr Celebration Announcement in Morocco
The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs in Morocco has officially declared that Aïd Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan 1447 of the Hijri calendar, will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026. This announcement came on Thursday evening, following the observation of the lunar crescent after the Al Maghrib prayer on the 29th of Ramadan.
In a detailed communiqué, the ministry confirmed that the crescent moon was sighted, thus establishing the first day of Shawwal 1447 AH, which corresponds to the joyous occasion of Aïd Al Fitr. This momentous holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide, symbolizing the culmination of a month of fasting and spiritual reflection.
As the holy month draws to a close, prayers and well wishes are extended to King Mohammed VI, the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the royal family, as well as to the Moroccan people and the broader Islamic community, wishing them prosperity and divine blessings during this auspicious time.
