New Nonstop Route to Agadir Enhances Travel Options
Air Transat has proudly announced the launch of its new nonstop service connecting Montreal to Agadir, marking a significant expansion of its operations in Morocco. This new route, designated as flight TS492, made its inaugural journey on June 12, 2026, and will operate once a week on Fridays until October 23, 2026. With this service, Air Transat becomes the first and only airline to provide direct flights to Agadir from North America, thereby enhancing travel options for Canadian tourists looking to explore this coastal gem.
Agadir is now the second Moroccan destination offered by Air Transat from Montreal, complementing its existing service to Marrakech. This addition is part of the airline's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Africa and provide exclusive access to Moroccan destinations. Sébastien Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Air Transat, emphasized the airline's commitment to responding to the increasing demand for travel to Morocco, saying, "The launch of this route to Agadir reflects our ambition to strengthen exclusive access to Morocco and expand our presence across the African continent. It responds to strong and growing demand while supporting both tourism development and closer ties between communities in Canada and Morocco."
Strengthening Ties Between Canada and Morocco
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO) has also expressed support for this new route, highlighting the rising interest among Canadians in visiting Agadir. Siham Fettouhi, Executive Director for North America at the MNTO, stated, "The MNTO, in collaboration with Air Transat, is delighted to offer Canadians enhanced and more consistent connectivity to Agadir. As the distance between Canada and Morocco continues to shrink, both geographically and culturally, we are pleased to celebrate the experiences and destinations that make every trip to Morocco unique for Canadian travelers." This new flight service is expected to further strengthen the cultural and tourism ties between Canada and Morocco.
Flights on this route will be operated using the Airbus A321LR, a modern aircraft designed for long-range travel, featuring both Economy Class and Club Class cabins. Passengers can look forward to ergonomic seating and an advanced in-flight entertainment system, ensuring a comfortable journey to their destination.
