Air Transat Introduces Non-Stop Service to Agadir
In a significant development for travelers from North America, Air Transat has officially launched its direct flight service between Montreal and Agadir, Morocco, with the inaugural flight TS492 taking off last Friday. This new route marks Air Transat as the only carrier providing non-stop flights to Agadir from the North American region. Following Marrakech, Agadir becomes the second Moroccan destination offered by the airline from Montreal, with this seasonal service scheduled to operate once a week on Fridays until October 23, 2026.
According to Sébastian Ponce, the Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, "This launch to Agadir aligns with our ambition to strengthen exclusive access to Morocco and expand our presence on the African continent. It addresses a significant growth in demand and contributes to both tourism development and the strengthening of community ties between Canada and Morocco." Passengers can expect to travel in the comfort of the modern Airbus A321LR, an aircraft celebrated for its efficiency and passenger comfort. Onboard, travelers can enjoy a well-designed cabin featuring ergonomic seating and a state-of-the-art entertainment system in both Economy and Club Class.
Enhancing Connectivity Between Canada and Morocco
Karl Brochu, Vice President of Operations and Air Development at Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), expressed enthusiasm for this new direct route, stating, "ADM is very pleased to welcome this inaugural direct flight to Agadir, which will allow travelers to explore a sunny destination renowned for its beautiful beaches and rich Moroccan culture." Siham Fettouhi, Director for the North American Market at the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), added, "We are thrilled to provide Canadians with enhanced and more regular connectivity to Agadir in collaboration with Air Transat. As the geographical and cultural distance between Canada and Morocco continues to shrink, we look forward to celebrating the unique experiences and destinations that make every trip to Morocco special for Canadian tourists. We are also honored to see an increasing number of Canadians choosing to discover Morocco, and we consider this new route a natural progression in strengthening air connectivity between our two nations."
