Allan Okello, the talented attacking midfielder from Uganda, has officially signed with AS FAR Rabat, a premier team in Morocco's top-tier league, Botola Pro. The 26-year-old footballer was presented by the club on Friday, marking the beginning of a three-year contract that promises excitement for both the player and the fans. Expressing his enthusiasm, Okello stated, "I am very excited to join a big team like AS FAR. I promise to do my best to help the team to win titles." His commitment to excellence is evident as he embarks on this new journey in his career.
Before making the leap to Morocco, Okello showcased his skills at Young Africans SC in Tanzania, where he made a significant impact in just seven months, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists. His impressive performance caught the attention of scouts and fans alike, solidifying his reputation as a formidable midfielder. Prior to his stint in Tanzania, Okello played a vital role in helping Vipers SC secure a double during the 2024/2025 season, further highlighting his capability on the field.
Okello's journey in football has taken him across various leagues, including a previous spell in North Africa with an Algerian club from 2020 to 2023. His early beginnings in Uganda were marked by notable achievements in school football, which paved the way for his successful tenure at KCCA FC. At KCCA, he played a crucial role in helping the team advance to the group stage of the 2028/2029 CAF Champions League. However, his career has not been without challenges, as he is also remembered for missing a penalty in a critical group match against Tanzania during the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Allan Okello's transition to AS FAR Rabat signifies not just a new chapter in his career, but also an opportunity to contribute to a club with a rich history and ambitious goals. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how he adapts to the Moroccan league and continues to evolve as a player. With his proven track record and determination to succeed, there's no doubt that Okello will make a lasting impression in his new environment.
