A.P. Moller Capital, a prominent Danish fund management company, has officially confirmed its agreement to acquire a majority stake in Globex Investissement, a leading logistics provider in Morocco. This acquisition will be facilitated through two of A.P. Moller Capital's investment vehicles: the Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II and the APM Capital Morocco Fund. The strategic partnership will see Omar El Kadiri, the founder and current CEO of Globex, continuing to lead the company alongside an experienced management team, as they embark on a new growth trajectory.

Globex operates under a framework of local market licensing agreements and has established a strong foothold in various logistics sectors, including express delivery services, road freight, freight forwarding, and customs brokerage. The completion of this acquisition is contingent upon customary conditions, notably the approval from the Moroccan Competition Council concerning merger control.

Kim Fejfer, the CEO of A.P. Moller Capital, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with Omar El Kadiri through our investment which directly aligns with our core sector and geographic focus. Globex is an established market leader in transportation and logistics, a sector in which we have deep domain expertise and a strong regional presence, and Morocco is rapidly developing into the leading North African logistics hub, supported by strong macroeconomic tailwinds.”

Adding to this sentiment, Ghislane Guedira, the CEO of APM Capital Morocco S.A, remarked, “We’re delighted to announce our investment in Globex. With the combination of A.P. Moller Capital’s sector heritage and Globex’s strong management team, we look forward to supporting the company as it continues to strengthen its market position and contribute to the development of Morocco’s transport and logistics sector, while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.”
