Azziz Akhannouch, a prominent leader of the National Rally of Independents party, has declared that his party is entering the current electoral process backed by a solid record of five years of work. He emphasized that all commitments made during the 2021 elections have been fulfilled, and now, the next choice rests with the citizens. Speaking at an electoral rally in the region of Chiadma in the Essaouira province, Akhannouch pointed out that this phase places a significant responsibility on voters to assess the achievements of the past five years and select those they believe are capable of managing the challenges ahead. He underscored the critical importance of participation and voting in the democratic process.
During his address, Akhannouch highlighted the direct social support initiative, revealing that over 70,000 families in the Essaouira province benefit from it. He described a new approach designed to empower beneficiaries to access the job market without immediately losing their support. He explained that those receiving social assistance would have the opportunity to work for a year while still retaining their benefits. The goal is to encourage beneficiaries to seek employment and improve their incomes without the fear of losing their social aid, which could hinder their entry into the labor market.
Akhannouch further noted that if a beneficiary secures stable employment and enhances their income, they can continue their professional journey while still having the option to revert to receiving support should they lose their job or face challenges in maintaining their employment. This initiative represents a shift from merely providing financial assistance to adopting a mechanism that fosters support and empowerment.
In the healthcare sector, Akhannouch announced that construction of a new hospital in Essaouira is expected to commence by the end of the year, with an estimated completion timeline of approximately two and a half years. He also pointed out the future need to strengthen healthcare services in the Chiadma region to alleviate pressure on health facilities in Essaouira.
Touching upon education, Akhannouch regarded the reforms initiated by the government as setting the educational system on a new path. He praised the academic results achieved in the province and the efforts of educational staff. He confirmed that the expansion of the "Leadership Schools" model has reached 80% of primary schools and 50% of middle schools during the current school year, with plans for broader implementation next year.
On the political front, Akhannouch reiterated that his party will approach the electoral phase based on what he views as a track record of fulfilled commitments, stating that the National Rally of Independents returns to voters after having honored its promises made in 2021. He also criticized certain practices related to candidacies and political affiliations, asserting that his party will not engage in manipulative tactics and will oppose practices that do not align with clear political belonging and respect for voter choices.
He concluded by affirming that the final decision remains in the hands of the citizens, urging voters to safeguard their voices and make their choices based on the achievements of the past years and their expectations for the future.
