Bayern Munich Secures Transfer of Moroccan Star Ismael Saibari for €55 Million

Bayern Munich Completes Deal for Ismael Saibari

Bayern Munich has successfully reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven for the transfer of Moroccan international Ismael Saibari. The deal, valued at approximately €55 million, marks a significant investment for the Bavarian club as they look to bolster their squad. Multiple sources, including ‘Bild’ and Sky, confirm that Bayern will pay slightly less than the reported amount, which includes various performance-related bonuses.

Medical Check Scheduled During World Cup

In a well-coordinated effort, Saibari is set to undergo his medical examination in the United States, where he will meet with Bayern's medical team. This arrangement is particularly convenient as Bayern’s physician, Dr. Jochen Hahne, is already present at the World Cup serving in his role as a team doctor for the German Football Association (DFB). However, the medical check is likely to take place only after Morocco's second group match against Scotland, ensuring that Saibari’s preparation for the tournament remains uninterrupted.

Negotiations surrounding the transfer fee were crucial, as PSV aimed to achieve the highest transfer revenue in the club's history. The previous record stood at €50 million, which Napoli paid for Hirving Lozano during the 2019/20 season. With the assistance of Saibari’s agent, Ali Dursun, both clubs eventually reached a satisfactory agreement. Eindhoven will receive a record-breaking transfer fee, while Bayern considers the negotiated amount, along with its bonus structure, to be fair and in line with current market values.

Saibari's rapid agreement with Bayern is particularly vital given his rising profile prior to the World Cup, where he had already attracted a significant amount of interest from various clubs. In the last season, the talented forward netted 19 goals and provided nine assists in 37 competitive matches for PSV Eindhoven. His performance on the international stage has also been noteworthy, especially with a stunning lobbed goal during Morocco's 1-1 draw against Brazil.

By finalizing this deal, Bayern's management, led by sporting director Max Eberl and director Christoph Freund, has effectively circumvented a potential increase in Saibari's market value due to his World Cup performances, bringing coach Vincent Kompany's desired transfer to fruition. Following Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, Saibari represents yet another significant summer acquisition for the German record champions, with plans for his medical check to also take place during the World Cup in the USA.
