In an interview from August 2024, he revealed, "We filmed at the Jemaa el-Fna square in Marrakech and in the bustling souks. It's significantly more intricate than shooting in a small camping site in southern France because the square is bustling 24/7, especially during the day when tourists crowd the area." The dynamic atmosphere required an incredible amount of flexibility and quick thinking from the production team.
Ournac emphasized that managing a film crew in such a lively location posed considerable challenges. He explained, "Arriving with a filming crew and expecting to clear the square or block off streets simply isn't feasible. You have to work with the environment, shoot quickly, and adapt to the constant noise. Sound recording typically necessitates silence, but here there’s music, street performers, and all sorts of distractions. This means we will likely have to redo some of the dialogue in post-production, similar to animated films."
Moreover, he instilled a sense of urgency among his fellow actors, stating, "These are filming conditions that are a bit more extreme, requiring us to be efficient. This was the directive I gave to the cast—stay decisive about what we propose because we need to film quickly and effectively." Shooting in such an iconic and lively setting certainly represented a logistical challenge, markedly different from the comfort of traditional studio environments.
