Expansion Efforts for Belarusian Dairy Products in Morocco

On October 5, in Minsk, Belarus is making significant strides to penetrate the Moroccan market for dairy product exports. This initiative was a key topic during a meeting between Ivan Smilgin, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, who also directs the Veterinary and Food Surveillance Department, and inspectors from Morocco's National Food Safety Authority (ONSSA). The Ministry of Agriculture's press service has provided insights into these discussions.

The visit by the Moroccan inspectors aims to conduct an independent assessment to determine whether Belarusian production facilities meet Morocco's veterinary and sanitary requirements as well as technical regulations. Both parties meticulously coordinated the program for the delegation's visit, discussing the criteria for evaluating production processes along with logistical and organizational aspects of the planned inspections.

Commitment to Transparency and Quality

Ivan Smilgin underscored the importance of transparency within the production processes. He stated, "The Belarusian side is completely open during the inspection. No special preparatory measures are necessary, as ensuring high product quality is an integral part of our systematic daily operations. We are ready to provide comprehensive support to the delegation. Our cooperation model is based on the principle of complete transparency, which facilitates the swift and constructive resolution of all industry-specific issues." This commitment to openness reinforces Belarus's readiness to enhance its international trade relationships.

The working visit of the Moroccan delegation is scheduled to last one week. During this time, foreign experts will visit several processing facilities to personally verify the reliability of the Belarusian quality control system for the products produced. Inspectors will scrutinize the entire supply chain—from raw material monitoring and agricultural practices on the fields to laboratory testing of finished products and the mandatory certification processes.

Successfully passing this audit represents the final step in the coordination process. According to the press service, this will pave the way for the official opening of the Moroccan market to Belarusian dairy producers, thereby boosting the industry's export potential and strengthening economic trade relations between the two nations.
