Buraq Dominates the Race Again
In a remarkable display of equine prowess, the horse Buraq has successfully defended its title as champion of the UAE President's Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, held in Morocco for the second consecutive year. This exciting event took place recently at the Casablanca 'Anfa' sandy racetrack, which is part of the 33rd edition of the prestigious cup's racing agenda. Buraq, descended from the lineage of Mahab and Shumus Bint Djoras Tu, raced under the colors of Al Lyth Racing, expertly trained by Ali Mohammed, and gallantly ridden by jockey Mohsen Lform. The horse clinched first place in the third category race, covering a distance of 1900 meters designated for Arabian horses aged four years and older.
Buraq completed the race in an impressive time of 2:12.63 minutes, finishing ahead of its closest competitor, Mushrif, by a length and three-quarters. Mushrif, bred from Duhas and Tashrifat Bint Bengali Dalbritt, was owned by Khalifa bin Shaeil Al Kuwari, trained by Xavier Thomas De Molt, and ridden by jockey Guillaume Guedj Guy. Following closely behind in third place was Mughayir, descended from Mahab and Ghabra Bint Dormann, racing under the banner of Atlas Stud, trained by Rashid Fannan, and ridden by jockey Omar Lakjal. The competition was fierce, showcasing the elite of Arabian horses, with Nehim finishing fourth and Ya Aini Fal rounding out the top five.
