In a remarkable demonstration of operational capability, Casablanca Cruise Port has successfully welcomed three ships simultaneously for the first time in its history, accommodating over 1,300 passengers in a single day. This significant event marks a pivotal moment for the Moroccan port, showcasing its enhanced infrastructure and readiness to handle increased cruise traffic. The port coordinated an impressive logistical operation involving approximately 100 buses and 20 minibuses to facilitate shore excursions for travelers to various Moroccan destinations including the iconic cities of Casablanca, Rabat, and El Jadida.
Operational Excellence and Future Prospects
The vessels that docked at the port included the luxurious Seven Seas Voyager, carrying 633 passengers, the Azamara Journey with 635 passengers, and the La Belle des Océans, hosting 103 passengers. The General Manager of Casablanca Cruise Port, Ouadii Bouchana, expressed his enthusiasm during traditional plaque exchange ceremonies held on board each ship, highlighting the milestone's significance. Bouchana stated, 'Hosting our first triple ship call is a significant milestone for Casablanca Cruise Port and a clear demonstration of our operational capability. Beyond operational success, Casablanca offers guests seamless access to Morocco's rich cultural heritage.'
In addition to the three ships, the port also welcomed Viking Vesta with 956 passengers and VidantaWorld Elegant carrying 56 passengers, bringing the total number of visitors to over 2,300 during this peak period. The port's strategic location near Mohammed V International Airport and its planned rail connectivity further enhance its status as an accessible gateway for international travelers. With additional cruise calls expected over the weekend, including vessels such as Corinthian, Silver Ray, and Viking Jupiter, Casablanca Cruise Port is poised to maintain its momentum and establish itself as a key player in the cruise industry.
