The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended on a negative note on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, with its main index, the MASI, dropping by 0.38% to close at 18,322.01 points. This downturn reflects a broader trend in the market, as various indices demonstrated mixed performances throughout the trading session.

While the MASI 20 index, which includes the 20 most liquid securities, showed a slight increase of 0.07%, closing at 1,338.38 points, the MASI ESG index, which tracks companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, experienced a decline of 0.82%, finishing at 1,309.52 points. Similarly, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which reflects the performance of small and medium-sized capitalizations, fell by 0.67%, closing at 1,848.56 points.

On the international front, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 Index and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid Index also ended the session down, registering losses of 0.33% to 17,428.29 points and 0.45% to 15,755.05 points, respectively. Sector-wise, the 'Mines' sector faced the most substantial declines, down by 3.50%, followed by the 'Engineering and Industrial Equipment' sector at -2%, and the 'Chemicals' sector, which saw a decrease of 1.97%. Conversely, sectors such as 'Forestry and Paper' (+3.62%), 'Pharmaceutical Industry' (+1.81%), and 'Transport Services' (+1.76%) reported the best performances.

Trading volume reached over 198.57 million dirhams, predominantly executed on the central equity market, with significant contributions from Banque Centrale Populaire (102.87 MDH), Managem (22.07 MDH), and Attijariwafa Bank (13.05 MDH). The total market capitalization exceeded 1,050.39 billion dirhams.

Notable individual stock movements included a significant decline in SMI, which fell by 6.46% to 6,360 dirhams, followed by Promopharm S.A. (-3.64% to 1,349 dirhams), Managem (-3.39% to 14,095 dirhams), Minière Touissit (-3.01% to 4,800 dirhams), and Microdata (-2.55% to 760 dirhams). In contrast, stocks such as Med Paper (+3.62% to 25.50 dirhams), Sothema (+2.17% to 376 dirhams), SODEP-Marsa Maroc (+1.76% to 863 dirhams), Maghrebail (+1.69% to 894.90 dirhams), and Risma (+1.46% to 333.95 dirhams) achieved the most significant gains.
