The MASI index recorded a gain of 0.44%, closing at 18,792.25 points. This upward trajectory, however, masked a mixed performance across various sectors, with insurance stocks standing out due to a robust increase of 6.17%, marking the best sectoral performance of the day.

This impressive movement was driven by several key players in the insurance market. Wafa Assurance led the charge with a notable increase of 9.44%, closing at 5,450 dirhams, making it one of the top gainers on the exchange. Balima followed suit with a 5.82% rise, reaching 200 dirhams, while Sanlam Maroc added 4.53% to finish at 3,000 dirhams. The activity within the market remained vigorous, with total trading volume exceeding 306 million dirhams, showcasing strong investor interest.

Sectorial Disparities in Performance

On the flip side, the pharmaceutical sector experienced the most significant downturn, with a marked decline of 9.23%. Notably, Sothema faced the steepest correction of the session, plummeting by 9.81% to close at 340 dirhams.
