Royal Ceremony Marks 27th Anniversary of King Mohammed VI's Throne
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, presided over a solemn oath-taking ceremony for newly graduated officers from various military and paramilitary schools on Friday afternoon. This event took place in the prestigious courtyard of the Royal Palace in Tetouan, coinciding with the celebration of the 27th anniversary of His Majesty's ascension to the throne of his illustrious ancestors.
During this auspicious occasion, the King graciously named the graduating class “Al-Ayoun,” in honor of the capital of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, which he has worked diligently to develop into a cohesive economic and developmental hub.
Following the national anthem, His Majesty delivered a significant address, extending heartfelt congratulations to the officers on their graduation from various military, security, and territorial schools. The King expressed pride in the modern training and resources provided to the military and security forces, emphasizing the continuous enhancement of social conditions for their personnel.
His Majesty urged the newly sworn officers to embody the values associated with the name “Al-Ayoun,” which symbolize sacrifice, loyalty, genuine national pride, and commitment to the nation’s sacred values, in unwavering adherence to the timeless motto: God, Homeland, King.
Honoring the Next Generation of Military Leaders
Following the oath, the Supreme Commander, accompanied by the Crown Prince and Prince Moulay Rachid, saluted the flags of the Royal Armed Forces before reviewing the various groups of officers who had taken the oath. These officers belong to the graduating class of 2026 from military academies, including the Royal Military Academy, the Royal Air School, the Royal Naval School, and the Royal Military Medical Services School, alongside those from paramilitary institutes such as the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, the Royal Police Institute, and the National School of Civil Protection.
Additionally, His Majesty bestowed ranks upon officers who were promoted in 2026, a gesture reflecting the King's deep care for the Royal Armed Forces and the special attention he continuously offers to its members. Prior to the ceremony, the King had also met with the promotion committee at the Royal Palace in Tetouan and approved the promotion schedule concerning the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, Royal Guard, and Auxiliary Forces. He instructed that his congratulations be conveyed to those promoted and encouraged all members of the Royal Armed Forces to persist in their noble duties, steadfast in their commitment to the motto: God, Homeland, King.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, the heads of both parliamentary chambers, royal advisors, government members, senior officers of the Royal Armed Forces, military attaches from foreign embassies in Rabat, alongside numerous civilian and military figures.
