The 2026 edition of the annual 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit has recently concluded, leaving behind a legacy of impactful discussions, strategic partnerships, and memorable moments that are expected to resonate across the continent for a considerable time. This prestigious event, organized by the DAVDAN Peace and Advocacy Foundation in collaboration with the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa, took place at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès Marrakech within the Mövenpick Hotel complex in Morocco. With the theme "Uniting Africa’s Change Makers for Growth and Impact: A Gate to Sustainable Development," the summit served as a vital platform for fostering dialogue on critical issues such as leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, peacebuilding, and sustainable development, while simultaneously enhancing partnerships among Africa’s emerging and established leaders.

Attendees included a distinguished lineup of diplomats, business executives, policymakers, and development partners from across the African continent. Notable figures included Charity Gbedawo, Ambassador of Ghana to Morocco, and Shakilla Kazimbaya Umutoni, Ambassador of Rwanda to Morocco, among others. The summit was marked by the presentation of awards to individuals whose remarkable contributions have significantly advanced leadership, peacebuilding, business excellence, and sustainable development across Africa. Award recipients included Hanan Buhari, the daughter of Nigeria’s former President, and Dr. Asu Kunemofa, Director of Finance and Accounts for the Niger Delta Development Commission.

Promoting Excellence and Collaboration Across Africa

During the event, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, the Project Director of the summit, expressed his gratitude to the award recipients for their commendable contributions to humanity. He emphasized that the summit has evolved into one of Africa’s leading platforms for recognizing excellence, promoting visionary leadership, and fostering strategic collaborations aimed at driving sustainable peace and inclusive growth across the continent. The past editions of the summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, have facilitated the induction of new members into the African-Asian Chamber of Commerce, enhancing economic cooperation between Africa and Asia. Looking ahead, Amb. Amafibe announced the potential hosting of the 2027 edition in either Tanzania or Zimbabwe, promising continued engagement towards impactful initiatives that foster socio-economic development.
