FIFA President Applauds the Success of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026
Gianni Infantino, the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), has expressed his admiration for the remarkable achievements of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026. Following the conclusion of the tournament, which saw Cameroon emerge victorious for the first time in its history, Infantino extended his gratitude to the African Football Confederation (CAF) and Morocco for their significant contributions. This edition of the tournament featured the participation of 16 teams for the first time and also served as a qualifying phase for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil, with Algeria, Cameroon, Malawi, and Morocco securing direct spots for the World Cup, while South Africa and Ghana proceeded to the preliminary playoff stage.
