Comba Telecom and SCOMM Forge Strategic Partnership for Advanced In-Building Solutions in Morocco

Comba Telecom, a renowned global leader in wireless communication solutions, has officially joined forces with SICOTEL Communications (SCOMM), a prominent provider of telecom and ICT solutions in Morocco. This significant collaboration was announced during the highly anticipated GITEX Africa 2026 event, marking a pivotal step in enhancing the communication infrastructure within the country.

The primary objective of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to collaboratively explore, develop, and implement cutting-edge In-Building Solutions (IBS) throughout Morocco. This initiative is particularly crucial as the demand for seamless indoor wireless coverage is rapidly increasing in commercial, industrial, and public spaces. This partnership emerges at a crucial time when Morocco is advancing its digital transformation as part of the Digital Morocco Plan 2030, which emphasizes a nationwide rollout of 5G technology. The Moroccan government has set an ambitious target of achieving over 25% 5G coverage by the conclusion of 2026, and the collaboration between Comba and SCOMM is poised to play a vital role in establishing the necessary infrastructure to support this initiative.

Comba Telecom will leverage its award-winning ComFlex MAX solution alongside its extensive expertise in Passive and Active Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). Meanwhile, SCOMM, founded in 2004 and recognized as a trusted solutions provider for Moroccan service providers and major enterprises, will contribute its profound understanding of the local market, deployment capabilities, and established customer relationships.

The MOU outlines a collaborative framework that includes identifying and pursuing new opportunities for In-Building Solutions across Morocco, deploying an extensive range of Comba’s Passive and Active DAS solutions, including the innovative ComFlex MAX platform. Additionally, both parties are committed to joint marketing initiatives aimed at promoting integrated indoor wireless solutions to Moroccan operators and enterprises.

Comba's ComFlex MAX solution, which has been successfully implemented in over 80 countries and regions, features an IT-like architecture with industry-leading Remote Units that significantly enhance performance while reducing power consumption. This aligns with global sustainability goals and complements Morocco’s green infrastructure initiatives. The partnership will specifically target venues that require high-density connectivity, such as shopping malls, office buildings, hotels, airports, and stadiums.

The signing ceremony of this strategic partnership occurred during GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech, which is recognized as Africa’s largest technology and startup event. The event's theme, “Accelerating Africa’s Future: AI for Inclusive Transformation,” brings together global tech leaders, policymakers, and investors, fostering an environment for innovation and collaboration.

Rayan Hamze, General Manager at Comba MEA, emphasized that this collaboration with SCOMM represents a significant milestone in Comba’s commitment to strengthening Africa’s digital infrastructure. As Morocco’s telecom market is projected to reach $4.59 billion by 2030, this partnership aims to tackle indoor connectivity challenges across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, particularly with major sports events on the horizon in 2030. The combination of Comba’s global technological expertise and SCOMM’s deep-rooted local understanding positions them to deliver future-ready, energy-efficient wireless solutions that cater to the evolving needs of Morocco’s mobile-first economy.

SCOMM has been a leading entity in wireless solutions integration within Morocco for over two decades, serving the nation’s foremost telecom operators and enterprises. By partnering with Comba, SCOMM is set to enhance its portfolio with world-class in-building wireless technology. As Morocco prepares for significant international events and accelerates its 5G deployment, this partnership is strategically positioned to provide seamless indoor connectivity experiences that align with the Kingdom’s overarching digital transformation objectives.
