Community Meeting Addresses Land Disputes in Tasseltant

On Friday, April 24, 2026, the main conference room at the Tasseltant municipality hosted a significant communication meeting that brought together representatives of the municipality and residents of the Al-Sharifa neighborhood. These residents had previously been relocated to Douar Al-Sultan as part of a resettlement program. During this gathering, various issues regarding the legal and property status of several beneficiaries were discussed. Despite having received plots of land through the relocation process and obtaining official documents from the Al Omrane institution, which were validated by the Urban Agency of Marrakech, many residents still faced unresolved legal challenges.

The affected individuals expressed their frustrations when they began to complete the process of obtaining housing permits, only to discover that the status of their plots had not been updated in the land registry plan. This oversight has hindered their ability to finalize necessary legal procedures. Adding to their difficulties, some residents received notices requiring them to pay taxes on undeveloped land, despite considering their situation legally unstable due to the ongoing resolution process. This situation has generated widespread dissatisfaction among the community, which is now demanding an urgent and fair solution.

Representatives from the municipality acknowledged the residents' concerns and stressed the importance of coordinating with various stakeholders, particularly the Al Omrane institution and the Urban Agency, to expedite the resolution of this matter and enable those affected to finalize their legal status. The meeting concluded with a call to intensify efforts and hold additional meetings with all relevant parties, aiming to find practical solutions that alleviate the residents' burdens, whether concerning the updating of property statuses or addressing the imposed tax issues. The ultimate goal is to ensure their stability and full enjoyment of their rights.
