Exploring the Latest Trends at Cosmetista Expo

The bustling city of Casablanca, Morocco, is currently hosting the ninth edition of the Cosmetista Expo North & West Africa, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in the beauty industry. This prominent event serves as a hub for beauty enthusiasts and professionals alike, providing a comprehensive overview of the future of cosmetics. Among the most notable trends is the increasing popularity of vegan products, which are free from animal-derived substances. Walid Mady, a representative from Goldery & More, a brand specializing in hair products, commented on the shift in consumer interest over the past decade. He noted that while organic products were once the primary focus, today's consumers are gravitating towards vegan options to ensure the safety and gentleness of the ingredients used on their hair and skin.

Furthermore, the expo features a diverse range of offerings, from skin treatments marketed as natural to detox hair care solutions and therapeutic products. The emphasis on promoting a beauty regime that harmonizes aesthetics with health is evident throughout the event. Faisal Harkous, a semi-permanent makeup specialist from Lebanon, illustrated this point by discussing products designed for cancer patients. As chemotherapy often results in hair loss, Harkous has developed eyebrow solutions that include techniques like microblading, which can help restore confidence for those undergoing treatment.

Technological Innovations in Beauty

In addition to vegan and health-oriented products, the expo highlights the integration of technology in beauty solutions. For instance, the DermaView skin analysis machine leverages artificial intelligence to deliver a comprehensive assessment of skin quality, as explained by Nihad Al Khoumani, a sales consultant at Specta, a Moroccan company specializing in medical aesthetics equipment. This innovation reflects a broader trend in the beauty industry, where technology is increasingly utilized to enhance consumer experience and product effectiveness.

The 2026 edition of the Cosmetista Expo, held from May 16 to 19, gathered 135 international exhibitors from a variety of countries, including Morocco, Italy, France, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. This convergence of global beauty brands underscores the growing significance of the African market in the global beauty landscape.
