Critical Mineral Resources' Ambitious Timeline for Agadir Project
Critical Mineral Resources PLC (LON: CMRS) is gearing up for an exciting milestone as it aims to publish its maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate for the Agadir Melloul copper project located in Morocco by October 2026. This pivotal development reflects the company’s commitment to advancing its mining operations and enhancing resource identification in a region known for its mineral potential.
To facilitate this process, Critical Mineral Resources has engaged the independent consultancy firm Addison Mining Services. The firm has commenced an extensive review of geological, drilling, and assay data, following a comprehensive site visit where they evaluated the project, inspected drill cores, and assessed the exploration procedures in place. The upcoming resource estimate will primarily focus on Zone 1 North, which has been the target of delineation, infill, and step-out drilling undertaken throughout 2025 and 2026.
Future Prospects and Exploration Continuity
It is noteworthy that the initial resource estimate is anticipated to cover only about 5% to 6% of CMR’s existing permit area, indicating substantial opportunities for resource expansion as exploration continues across the broader project landscape. Addison Mining Services has expressed optimism regarding the geological conditions and mineralization observed during their review, emphasizing the considerable potential that lies within the Agadir project. Charlie Long, Chief Executive of CMR, highlighted that this maiden JORC estimate will serve as the first independently assessed resource for the project, laying a crucial technical groundwork for the next stages of development.
As exploration efforts persist in other areas of the Agadir Melloul project, the company remains focused on maximizing its resource potential and advancing its strategic objectives in the mining sector.
