Danish investment firm A.P. Moller Capital has officially announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Globex Investissement, a prominent logistics enterprise based in Morocco. This strategic move comes just six months after the firm launched an investment fund specifically aimed at enhancing the transport and logistics sector within the region. The partnership will see A.P. Moller Capital’s Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II and the APM Capital Morocco Fund collectively assume majority ownership, collaborating closely with Globex's founder and CEO, Omar El Kadiri, who will continue to lead the company alongside a seasoned management team.
Globex has carved out a significant niche in the Moroccan market, holding exclusive licensing agreements and establishing a strong foothold in various logistics services, including express delivery, road freight, freight forwarding, and customs clearance. A.P. Moller Capital highlighted that this acquisition is in perfect alignment with its strategic focus on geographic and sectoral growth within Morocco’s logistics landscape. The firm is committed to transforming Globex into a frontrunner in sustainable logistics, aspiring to implement solar-powered sorting centers, an electric transport fleet, and comprehensive carbon-emissions reporting as part of a broader “Net Zero” roadmap.
Kim Fejfer, the CEO of A.P. Moller Capital, emphasized that this investment resonates well with the company's primary sector focus and geographic strategy, noting that Morocco is rapidly evolving into a leading logistics hub in North Africa, thanks to favorable macroeconomic conditions. Meanwhile, Ghislane Guedira, CEO of APM Capital Morocco, pointed out that this partnership will bolster Globex's growth trajectory while maintaining a robust sustainability agenda. However, the completion of this acquisition is contingent upon receiving approval from Morocco’s Competition Council in accordance with merger regulations.
The APM Capital Morocco Fund, which was established in February 2026 as part of the Mohammed VI Investment Fund initiative, has secured total commitments amounting to 1.64 billion dirhams (approximately $178 million). In addition, EMIF II has pledged an extra 600 million dirhams, resulting in a total capital pool of 2.24 billion dirhams (around $243 million) designated for investment in Morocco's transport and logistics sectors. Previously, A.P. Moller Capital divested from its investment in Mass Céréales Al Maghreb in 2025 and has also supported various infrastructure projects focused on Moroccan ports and energy transition.
