Important Update: Architectural Competition Deadline Extended

The Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication has officially announced a change in the submission deadline for the architectural competition aimed at designing and realizing an exhibition at the Morocco Pavilion during the 20th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, scheduled for 2027. Initially set for August 10, 2026, the new deadline for candidates to submit their applications has been extended to **September 15, 2026**. This decision comes in response to requests from architects seeking additional time to prepare their submissions.

All application documents must be submitted no later than **September 15, 2026, at 4:30 PM**. Submissions should be directed to the General Secretariat of the Department of Culture, specifically at the International Architecture Exhibition Cell for the Venice Biennale 2027, located at 1 Ghandi Street, Rabat.

The competition schedule is as follows:

  • September 18 to November 16, 2026: Second phase of the competition commences.
  • November 18, 2026: Meeting of the committee to finalize decisions.

This competition invites architects and groups of architects legally authorized to practice independently and registered with the National Order of Architects, as well as being in good standing with tax authorities and social security. The budget allocated for the design and execution of the pavilion is set at ten million dirhams (10,000,000 DHS) excluding tax.
