New Direct Flight Routes Connect Israel and Morocco
This autumn marks an exciting development in travel between Israel and Morocco, as three Israeli airlines prepare to offer direct flights to the North African nation. Arkia, which has already resumed its route to Marrakech after a nearly three-year hiatus, is set to be joined by Sun d’Or, a subsidiary of El Al, which plans to commence its own flights to Marrakech starting November 16th. Additionally, Israir is also gearing up to launch two weekly flights to Marrakech beginning in early November, pending the necessary approvals for a proposed route to Casablanca.
The increased flight options come on the heels of enhanced diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco. This development follows recent announcements regarding the elevation of diplomatic missions between the two countries. Despite the expanding air travel opportunities, Royal Air Maroc has not yet indicated a resumption date for its previously suspended flights to Israel, which halted after October 7, 2023.
